Today as i prepared to make the glass  I had to mix sand and some chemicals. I blended them in a pot called a crucible. I had to melt the mixture in a very hot fire.I  dipped a pipe into the liquid glass.I blew through the pipe to create a glass bubble. Using special tools, i shaped the glass. Or, i could also just blow glass into a heated mold.If i wasn’t happy i could start on a new one.Glass must be cooled slowly and evenly. If not, it becomes brittle. Many hands are needed to make glass. An apprentice tended the fire keeping it very hot.Blowing glass through a pipe took a lot of lung power.In order to rest your heart, the glass maker only worked six to nine years.
